FAQ

Here are some of the questions we get asked often from our loved clientelle

FAQ ON MASSAGES

A Swedish massage releases your body from worry and tension, leaving you with a refreshed, relaxed feeling.

Deep tissue massage includes the manipulation of superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance your body’s function and promote relaxation and well-being. This is great for targeting muscular knots and releasing chronic muscle tension.

Prior to your first massage at Salt Day Spa, you will be asked to complete a health history form to determine if massage is appropriate for you. This form takes only a few minutes to complete. We do ask that you arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment time on your first massage visit so that you can complete this form without taking away from your first massage. Next, you’ll be escorted to a private room, where your masseuse will ask you a few questions about the type of massage you want so that the masseuse can customize your experience to your needs and liking. The masseuse will then leave the room so that you can be ready. A few minutes later, your masseuse will return to begin your massage.

Customers may undress to your comfort level. Clean linens are provided so that you are adequately covered during your massage.

We recommend not eating a heavy meal one hour before and one after the session.

FAQ ON BODY SCRUB

Some scrubs can be bad for your skin, especially scrubs with shell-type particles.

FAQ ON WAXING

The hair should be at least 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch for best results. If you have coarse hair, it should be closer to 1/2-inch for the first few waxes.

Waxing reduces hair growth when performed every two to four weeks. While shaving crops the hair at the skin’s surface, waxing pulls the hair out at the root so the hair grows back softer, finer and thinner. The more you wax, the less hair grows back.

We say, “Don’t drink and wax.” Alcohol actually tightens pores, making the waxing more painful.

FAQ ON MANICURE & PEDICURE

Yes, we provide a one-time use sandal that you can wear out of our nail spa.

If you have a wound, joint or muscle strain, a rash or broken skin, you are well advised to wait until you’ve recovered.

No. For your protection and ours, we recommend that you wait to receive your manicure until after the fungus has been treated

Some people see results immediately and your skin should feel different right away.

FAQ ON FACIAL TREATMENTS

We recommend a facial every 3-4 weeks. At this frequency, we can monitor your skin throughout the seasons and help you maintain a healthy and glowing complexion.

We suggest facials start in clients’ 20s to early 30s unless you are experiencing breakouts at an earlier age.

We recommend being diligent with your home care program like cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing and protecting. This will help your skin function properly and look its absolute best.
